THE quality of teaching and progression of a Radcliffe nursery have been praised by Ofsted inspectors.

The newly published report shows that Train Station Day Nursery ‘continues to be good’ after a previous inspection in February 2014 said the same.

Inspectors praised the ‘experienced and ambitious’ management team who ‘work in close partnership with parents to provide a shared approach to support children’s individual needs.’

The report added that the children were happy and settled in their environment and that ‘they gain confidence from their close attachment to staff.’

It read: “Children are active, independent learners. They are gaining confidence in their ability and are inquisitive. Children are developing personal skills that will help them in the next stage of their learning, including moving on to school.”

The nursery, in Cross Street, employs 27 members of childcare staff, 16 of whom hold appropriate early years qualification at level 3.

According to the report, improvements could be made by better promoting outdoor opportunities for babies and younger children to help with their all-round development and learning.

Nursery manager, Julie Coffey, said: “We have a fantastic team at the Train Station Day Nursery and the Ofsted report reflects the hard work and commitment that they put into their work with the children in our care on a daily basis.

“We love working closely with the children and their families and seeing that the nursery provides a stepping stone of learning and development in the child’s early years.”
