A HEALTHY alternative to traditional fast food restaurants is speeding into Bolton and will provide around 20 jobs in the process.

Work is currently being carried out refurbishing a premises on Blackburn Road, at the corner of Waters Meeting Road, so that 80/20 health bar and Kitchen can open.

The restaurant will provide nutritious fast food dishes to eat in and takeaway, using the freshest ingredients.

It will also offer outside catering, meal preparation kits to take home and cookery classes.

The restaurant will also be available for private functions.

The new restaurant will be run by husband and wife team Tahir and Mina Khan, who are looking to bring something new to Bolton's culinary scene.

Mr Khan said: "There are a lot of developments that are going on at the site. We're hoping to open sometime in July.

"Everything is going really well so far. I think in total there could be up to 20 jobs that we are going to create. The idea is to provide healthy but fast food."

Mrs Khan will be the head chef at the restaurant and is currently creating the menu.

Mr Khan said that the restaurants unique selling point is that she will be using a range of spices to create diverse and tasty dishes, that are also healthy.

A range of grilled meats and balanced carbohydrates will be available for people to enjoy.

Mr Khan said that the restaurant will not just be for people who go to the gym but office and shop workers who want a quick but healthy meal and will also be open in the evenings.

It will also offer something for people who don't always have time to cook at home.

Mr Khan said: "Meal kits will also be available for people to make healthy food quickly at home. People who are busy sometimes don't have time to make a meal from scratch. They can get meals that are ready made to put in the oven or the microwave."
