A BAND which combines electro, hip-hop and reggae is taking over a Bolton nightspot.

The nine-strong The Moods will be lightening the mood in the Blind Tiger on Saturday.

Based in Manchester, they are known for unifying rap, brass and beats, delivering potent, political lyrics for a post-2016 world.

Born out of a musical experiment in North Manchester’s Boomshack Studios in early 2014, The Moods quickly gathered members and momentum.

An amalgamation of producers and poets, they have attracted the attention of local radio stations and journalists like John Robb and Terry Christian.

The Moods ended 2016 on a high with sell-out gigs in London, Glasgow and Manchester.

Blind Tiger in Nelson Square is an opportunity to chat the band on its rise as thanks to their artist development deal with A1M Records, their exposure in the music scene has been growing.

Two of their tracks have been chosen for the soundtrack of new UK feature film Strangeways Here We Come.

This summer, they are taking their bold, live show on the road, starting at Manchester's Pangaea festival earlier this month followed by the release of their album Missing Peace this August.

The gig starts at 9pm with support acts Argh Kid, Strangest Of Saints and Traps, and an after party till 4am with Indie Rocks! DJ Paul Holmes.

Entry is £3 on the door.
