PRIMARY school pupils enjoyed tucking in to a teddy bears’ picnic at one of the town’s newest housing estates.

Children at St. Paul’s CE Primary School, in Astley Bridge, were marking National Picnic Day at Taylor Wimpey’s Spinning Green development, off Crompton Way.

The youngsters ate their lunch in a show home with their favourite teddy bears, enjoyed a variety of sweet treats and also took part in a drawing competition.

Emma Hargreaves of St Paul’s Church of England Primary School, said: “This was such a lovely event and we’d like to thank Taylor Wimpey for organising it for the children.

“The team really thought about how to make the day something to remember for the children and everyone left with a smile on their face and a goodie bag in hand.

“The show homes really are lovely at Spinning Green and it gave the children and adults the opportunity to have a little look around and take in the family-friendly feel at the development while we were there.”

Chloe Dunn, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Manchester, added: “We’re delighted that the children and their teddies enjoyed the picnic and hope to work with St. Paul’s again.”
