A MUM has said she was left feeling 'violated' after a thief swiped her bag her child's pushchair.

Zarinah Toughfar was in the Superdrug store, Deansgate, on Tuesday when her bag was taken.

The 32-year-old from London was in the area visiting family when she went shopping.

She said: "I was in Superdrug and I was knelt down looking at some make-up, and I was talking to my daughter in the pushchair.

"The woman came into the shop and approached and she came and took my bag which was in the pushchair and she went straight back out again."

The bag contained Mrs Toughfar's passport, mobile phone, bank cards, driving licence and her car keys.

Mrs Toughfar was set to return to London but as her car keys had been taken she had to wait for her spare set to be posted to her meaning she could not spend Eid with her husband.

She said: "I was devastated I felt so violated. It is Ramadan and I was fasting at the time which just made it worse."

The phone also contained pictures of her children which were particularly sentimental.

However, with her young chi;d in the pushchair, she was grateful the incident was not worse.

Mrs Toughfar said: "I am happy that it was just something stolen. If it was a robbery or something I don't know what I would have done."

A police spokesman confirmed they were called shortly after 3pm on Tuesday to Deansgate, Bolton to reports of a theft.

He added that the offender approached a woman and took her bag before fleeing the scene.
