EVERY day, while we go about our daily life, there are people working tirelessly to keep us safe and well.
From the police officer on the frontline, to the firefighter going into a burning building and the paramedic rushing to the scene of a horrendous accident, there are countless men and women putting their lives on the line.
Then there are the Armed Forces, charity workers, lollipop ladies, mountain rescue, community champions, volunteers, midwives, nurses, doctors, GPs, first aiders — thousands upon thousands of people — who strive to make Bolton a better place.
We want to celebrate and shine a light on these incredible people and the fantastic work they do.
We want to say thank you for the countless hours these unsung heroes dedicate to helping make our part of the world a better place, often without us even noticing.
