A silence fell over Bolton this afternoon as people gathered in support of the victims of the attack on Finsbury Park Mosque.

Councillors and members of the public gathered in Victoria Square at noon for a minute's silence to remember those affected.

Rev. Bob Baldwin led the prayers at the service on the Town Hall steps.

He said: "We have come together today in unity and respect to represent all that is good in our community.

"We join in a minute's silence to remember the death of a fellow human being and those who have been injured and traumatised."

Makram Ali died when a van was driven into a crowd of worshippers leaving the North London mosque on June 19.

Eleven people were injured and Darren Osborne has been charged with murder and attempted murder.
