BOLTON’S Hindu Community held an event to remember victims of the recent terror attacks in London and Manchester and the Grenfell Tower disaster at the weekend.
Nearly 100 people attended peace prayers in memory of those who lost their lives in the tragedies at Shree Krishna Temple and Mandhate Community Centre, in Beverly Road, Heaton.
The prayers were led by priest, Mahindra Butt while speeches were given by Jay Patel and Mohan Patel, president of the temple.
There was also music featuring Hindu performers from Bolton, Ashton, Preston and Blackburn.
Mr Patel said the event was held for members of Bolton’s Hindu communities who were unable to attend the prayers held on the town hall steps earlier this month.
He said: “Some people were asking ‘where do we go to give something?’ All the donations will go to the relevant body or organisation to help the people who need it.”
Hindu groups represented at the event included those from Randhun Bhajan Manel the Shree Swaminarayan Temple.
