A FLAVOUR of this year’s Bolton Food and Drink Festival can be savoured in the town centre tomorrow.

Shoppers and visitors can find out what will be served up during the festival which takes place over the August Bank Holiday.

Tomorrow there will be plenty of fun dished up for the children and adults can enjoy a cookery demonstration and pick up tickets for the popular celebrity chef shows in August.

From 11am to 3pm, shoppers can find out about special offers and sponsors and partners including Aldi; Carrs Pasties; Greenhalghs; Last Drop Hotel, and Stateside Foods will be informing visitors of their plans at the festival.

Children can also pick up an entry pack for a ‘Kids with Hattitude’ competition. The competition ties in with the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party which will take place in a marquee throughout the festival.

Continuing with the Alice in Wonderland theme, children can also make their very own rabbit ears and tail at Bolton Library and get their face painted for free at Crompton Place Shopping Centre

To tie in with this weekend’s Strongman 2017 event, local chef Mike Harrison will be cooking a meal fit for a Strongman at Bolton Market and serving it up to a contestant.

Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr Cliff Morris, said: “Bolton Food and Drink Festival is a highlight of the year and once again we have a fabulous menu of events and activities for everyone, from foodies to crafty kids.

“We would like to encourage residents to come into town on Saturday and find out more and get a taster of what is to come at the main festival.

“We would also urge residents to buy their tickets as soon as possible to avoid missing out on what promises to be the biggest and best festival yet.”

This year Carrs Pasties has come on board as a partner and during the festival will be working with Simon Rimmer to create a special festival pasty.
