YOUNG entrepreneurs could certainly give Lord Alan Sugar a run for his money after proving they have a head for business.
Children at Horwich Parish CE Primary School swapped the classroom for the boardroom to start up their own business.
The school took part in the national Fiver Challenge, in which children start up their own business with just £5.
And the young businessmen and women were quids in the competition, after winning a number of prizes.
The young people running Kebab Xtreme at the school won the advertising competition, with Badge Ninjas runner-up in the same category.
Quench were runners-up for logo competition.
The young people beat hundreds of other businesses up and down the country.
Year Six teacher, Kathryn Hall said: “We held an enterprise exhibition to showcase the stalls and then sold the products every day for two weeks making £1500.
“Items that were for sale included popcorn, personalised bracelets, design and make your own badge, build your own kebab, mocktails, tasty treats, a Key Stage Two Snack shack at playtime, sweet cones, ice-lollies, hair braiding and a nearly new stall.”
Proud headteacher Alan Beedie added: "Our Year Six children have just raised £1500 by their own entrepreneurial efforts.
"It has been an excellent project I work out they made 3000 per cent profit."
