FIRE officials say that 61 high-rise buildings across Greater Manchester have now either failed fire tests or have potentially dangerous cladding.

The fire service confirmed that there are also an additional 10 buildings, out of 470 tower blocks, for which either local councils or residents have raised concerns following the Grenfell Tower disaster.

It is expected that inspections will continue for at least the next two months.

Geoff Harris, of the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, said: “If you have a fire or become aware of a fire in your home which includes blocks of flats, you should get out, stay out and call us out.”
