A MAN has been charged after a collision on the A6 that left a husband and wife with serious injuries.

Liam Fisher, 20, of Cawdor Court, Farnworth, has been charged with two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving without a licence and without insurance.

He was remanded into custody to appear at Stockport Magistrates’ Court today.

A 20-year-old man who was arrested has been released without charge.

At around 11.30am on Sunday, July 16, an unmarked police car was stationary at traffic lights on the A6 Buxton Road at the junction of Nangreave Road.

Following a short pursuit, a Renault Clio collided with a traffic light post and a man and a woman, in their 50s.

Police are still appealing for help to trace a black Vauxhall Vectra that was involved in the incident.
