THE importance of forgiveness has been spelt out by primary school children for a new CBeebies series exploring faith and values.

Bishop Bridgeman CE Primary School in Great Lever has been chosen as one of the schools to feature in the new series to be aired in the new year.

The school was approached because it hosted the Children's Ethos Conference in which young people explore Christian values.

Producers will be back next week for more filming.

Headteacher Jill Pilling said: "During the Ethos Conference children made pompoms to decorate the prayer space and for the programme it was used to speak about forgiveness, the importance of forgiving others as well as yourself.

"It is one of 30 programmes CBeebies is doing about faith and values.

"The children were absolutely delighted that CBeebies were here, we chose years one and two, because the channel appeals to them."

She added: "The children will be filmed again for a programme on feeding the 5,000 and our cook will back in school with some of the pupils for the filming."
