A DRIVER had a lucky escape after crashing into the central reservation on the M61.
The collision occurred at around 10am today on the northbound carriageway between junction three and junction four, between Farnworth and Little Hulton.
A spokesman from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said there was one car involved, which had hit the central reservation and came to a stop in the road.
The driver, a male in his 20s, was not seriously injured and got out of the car with just minor cuts and bruises.
The fire, police and ambulance services were at the scene to treat the man.
The car was later towed away from the scene.
