A WOMAN racially abused a man on a tram on the Bury line.

Police have released images of a woman they wish to speak with in connection with the offence.

Police received a report that at about 6pm on Tuesday, May 30 a woman was on the tram, on the Manchester to Bury line, when she got into an argument with a man.

During the argument the woman racially abused the man, and then she got off the tram at Abraham Moss station.

Detective Constable Dave Gager of GMP’s City of Manchester Team said: “Racial abuse has no place in our city and we are absolutely dedicated to investigating this thoroughly.

“We are keen to speak to the woman in the images in connection with this incident and I would urge anyone who knows her to get in touch.

“Although this happened a few months ago, we now have clear images and are hopeful that they will help us with our investigation.”
