THE rebuilding of Chorley New Road Primary School can go ahead, after councillors formally approved amended designs for the new building.
Work on the project, in Horwich, could now start in a matter of weeks.
The new building will allow the school to significantly increase its intake, which will be essential to accommodate families moving into the new housing development at the former Horwich Loco Works site.
Cllr Linda Thomas, deputy council leader, told a town hall planning meeting that the new facility is a ‘much-needed’ addition to the town’s education establishments.
