FRIENDS of a dad-of-two who was tragically killed in a car crash have launched an online appeal to raise money for his family.

A JustGiving page has been created in a bid to raise £500 for Ian Wilcox's wife, Cathryn, and the couple's two young daughters.

The money will go towards creating a memorial in Mr Wilcox's honour, which his two girls will be able to visit 'for years to come'.

Heartbreaking tribute to dad-of-two killed in crash

A message on the page reads: "Ian was the greatest son, son in law, brother in law and best friend anyone could wish for.

"But most of all he was the best husband to his wife Cathryn and the world's greatest daddy to his two beautiful daughters aged four and nine.

"Ian was a beloved Bolton Wanderers fan, a great lover of Queen and, of course, he was partial to a pint or ten!

"He was the life and soul of the party, loved getting together with his mates and doted on his gorgeous wife and children."

It continues: "As you can imagine, Ian has left a huge void in everyone's lives. We wanted to set up this Just Giving page to raise funds for Ian's family so they can create a memorial in his honour.

"Every penny counts so please give what you can to support this amazing cause!"

Mr Wilcox aged 42, from Harwood, was involved in a collision with another car while driving in Tonge Moor Road, just after 5am on Monday morning.

He was taken to Salford Royal Hospital by ambulance but later died.

Mental health support worker Violeta Taraskevic, of Brierwood, Bolton, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
