SEVEN new homes could be built at a garden centre site near Blackrod.
Plans to knock down a number of buildings at Baxter’s Gardening Centre, in Chorley Road, and built a small housing development in its place have been submitted to Bolton Council.
The proposals are an amended version of a previous scheme that was rejected because of the harm it would cause to the green belt.
The buildings earmarked for demolition have been used for the centre’s egg-producing business.
According to the developers, replacing the existing structures with homes would actually enhance the openness of the green belt.
