A MIX of unusual holiday guests and iconic singers will be brought to life thanks to the theatrical talents of Bolton's drama scene next week.

St Paul's AODS will be taking to the stage at its fourth venue in its 80-plus year history from Thursday.

The theatrical team has moved into St Paul's School in Astley Bridge as drama groups return to the stage after a summer break.

Fish Out of Water will take audiences on a trip the Riviera where a group of grumpy British holiday-makers have their peaceful trip shattered by the arrival of an eager and outspoken widow and her timid sister.

Chairmen Steve Brennan added: "Following the sad closure of the village halls at Bromley Cross we were once again made homeless but fortunately St Paul's school have welcomed us to perform there.

"This will be our forth venue in as many years but hopefully we can perform in the school for many years to come."

Fish out of Water runs from Thursday to Saturday, from 7.30pm, with tickets available on 01204 847866.

Meanwhile St. Simon & St. Jude ADS are bringing some legendary performers to life.

Its next production starting on Tuesday is the family-friendly song and dance show Music Legends - Live!

The show will showcase tributes to the likes of Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse with performances by many of the theatre's youngster members.

Company member Stella Crank said: "In this production, we hope to keep the music of many legendary entertainers alive for future generations.

"What is a legend? Most dictionaries give two definitions – a traditional story or a famous person. In this production, we have chosen the famous person option or rather several famous people.

"Those who by a combination of time, talent and work have lodged themselves in the public eye well beyond being described as a one-hit wonder. This could mean singers such as Freddie Mercury and Frank Sinatra or song writers such as Cole Porter and Andrew Lloyd-Webber."

The production starts at 7.30pm and will run until Friday at S.S. Simon & Jude's Academy in Newport Road, Great Lever. To book tickets call 01204 520232.
