A CAFE held a clean-up event to tidy the surrounding streets—and then invited everyone back for a well-earned brew.
More than 20 litter pickers turned out for the community litter pick put on by The Coffee Shop @Heaton, in New Hall Lane.
The volunteers, who ranged from youngsters to elderly folk, collected about 25 bags of rubbish from the area over three hours.
Every helper was then treated to a cup of tea or coffee for their community-spirited efforts.
Carol Bradley, who runs the shop with husband Mark, said: “It was a great community event and we would like to thank everyone who turned up. We were all amazed about how much litter we collected. All the litter pickers were provided with free refreshments so it was a good day all round.”
