EMERGENCY services were called to a fire at a town centre takeaway.
Fire crews were called to The Grill, Bradshawgate, at around 12.15pm this afternoon.
On arrival they found a fire in an industrial chip range as a result of a faulty thermostat.
The fire thoroughly smoke-logged the property and crews were required to put out the fire and ventilate it.
It was reported to the fire service that people were inside the business but nobody was found when a search was carried out.
Crews left the scene again at around 1.15pm.
