THE University of Bolton has become the town’s football club’s first short sponsor as it continues to team up with Wanderers, which starts its EFL Championship campaign.
The university said the new deal would open up more educational experiences for students.
The university has previously sponsored the shirt for three seasons.
Anna Fitzpatrick, Head of Sport and Biomedical Sciences at the university, said:”“The partnership between these two Bolton organisations is one we are extremely proud to be continuing. Bolton Wanderers FC and the university share a strong sporting heritage, and the University of Bolton is excited to support the club in the upcoming season while further developing our involvement. This close working relationship provides us with the opportunity to increase awareness of the university’s offering alongside a long-standing partner, while providing our students with the very best facilities and experiences.”
The university works with over 70 elite athletes and sports teams, including the England and Wales Rugby League, Bury FC, Wigan Athletic FC, England athletes and Manchester Giants basketball team. Such activities are part of the University of Bolton’s commitment to being a Teaching Intensive, Research Informed (TIRI) institution, providing academic excellence alongside practical opportunities.
