A FORMER Little Lever School pupil is hoping to tick everyone off the register at a ‘Class of 92’ reunion she has organised for next month.

It is 25 years since Beccy Jones and her classmates left the Church Street school to head out into the big wide world.

And Ms Jones, aged 41, has taken that milestone as a cue to organise a get-together for her old school chums.

The event will take place at Little Lever Cricket Club's function room, in Victory Road on Saturday, September 16, from 7pm till late.

A Facebook group – Little Lever Class of 92 Reunion – has been set up to spread the word and an ‘event’ has also been created on the social media site.

The mum-of-one, who now lives in Ringley, has heard from more than 100 of the pupils and teachers who made up her school year – but would love more people to get in touch.

She said: “We left 25 years ago and we’ve never had a reunion, I just thought it was a good opportunity and a good excuse to meet up with it being it being a nice round number.

Ms Jones, who recently set up her own nutrition business, said she was looking forward to seeing all her old classmates again - and was hoping to catch up with one pal in particular.

She said: “I’ve not been able to get hold of my best friend at school, Donna Shakeshaft. I believe her father is still local to Little Lever, but I’ve not been able to contact her."

And there is also a popular teacher she would like to get in touch.

“My Tuckley, our old maths teacher, I’d really like to see him,” she said.

“He was an inspirational teacher and he helped get my grades up – and he was the best laugh of all the teachers. He used to run a maths club and make us cups of tea.”

Anyone former Little Lever pupils who would like to go along to the school reunion can contact Beccy via the Little Lever Class of 92 Facebook page or by emailing her at beccyandbethjones@hotmail.com
