LUCA Navarro scored twice as Wanderers Under-18s hit Ipswich Town for six to notch a first win of the U18 Professional Development League North campaign.

Navarro was joined on the scoresheet at the Eddie Davies Academy by Dennis Politic, Jordan Boon, Matty Fearnley and Cameron Moore as the young Whites won 6-1.

Nicky Spooner's youngsters began brightly and had the lead within 90 seconds when Politic broke to score from inside the box.

Further chances were squandered but on the half-hour mark, the advantage was doubled when Boon headed into the top corner from a Navarro corner.

Wanderers again started brightly in the second half and Navarro netted his first – a fine individual goal.

He grabbed a second when he was quickest to react after politic's free kick bounced back off the bar.

The young Whites were oozing confidence on the attack and two more goals from Fearnley and Moore rounded off the scoring.

Coach Spooner was delighted with his side's efforts and told The Bolton News: "It was an excellent team performance.

"We started well and played a lot of fast, attacking football."

Next up for the u18s is a visit to Crystal Palace in the league on Saturday.
