HEALTH chiefs will be opening up about the future of Bury’s care services later this month.

The public are invited to learn more about the work of the local health teams as NHS Bury Clinical Commissioning Group holds its annual general meeting on September 27 at the Minden Suite of the Fusilier Museum in Moss Street.

Starting at 7pm, members of the CCG team and colleagues will host an exhibition, where attendees can learn more about its work and priorities during the year and beyond.

Chairman Dr Kiran Patel said: “The AGM is our opportunity to highlight activities and progress made during the last year, as well as talking about our plans for the future.

“We feel we have made some good progress during the last year, but there is obviously more to do and there are lots of developments planned moving forward. This is an opportunity for local people to learn more about our work and to get involved.”

The CCG will also talk about the challenges it has faced over the last year, including service developments and improvements which got under way, efforts to work more efficiently, financial facts and figures and future plans and priorities for local services.

Copies of the annual report for the year will also be available. Members of the public are invited to attend from 6pm and light refreshments will be available.

Next month the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust’s, which runs hospitals and NHS services in Oldham, Bury, Rochdale and North Manchester, will also host its annual public meeting.

The meeting on October 4 at Fairfield General Hospital includes a drop-in open event for the public which runs from 3pm to 5.30pm with services and teams showcasing their work.

Members of the public will be able to talk to NHS Trust staff and view a variety of displays and exhibition stands.

It will be followed by the formal APM, which will include a presentation from the chief executive Sir David Dalton and chairman Mr Jim Potter, who will give a review of the last year and the future plans for the Trust and its hospitals.
