WANDERERS’ injury problems intensified after a 3-0 defeat against Middlesbrough, with three players now in doubt for Tuesday night’s clash with Sheffield United.
Stephen Darby and Derik Osede were forced off against Boro, while David Wheater also reported a knee problem after the final whistle.
Andy Taylor was forced to pull out of Saturday’s game with a calf strain but could be fit to face the Blades.
Britt Assombalonga scored twice before sub Marvin Johnson added a third for Boro on Saturday to leave Wanderers bottom of the Championship table.
Phil Parkinson was left disappointed by the result – a third successive home defeat this season.
“The effort was there but we got punished and we can do better in certain situations, certainly for the first goal where we had four opportunities to take the ball away from him and he still gets a cross in – it’s disappointing and we can’t hide away from it,” he said.
“Second half I thought we’d had a decent spell but from Ben’s kick we haven’t reacted in midfield and got punished on the break down the left. It felt a bit harsh to be at 2-0 because the lads were having a real go to get back into the game.
“We knew we were up against a team will such quality and it was a tough afternoon after that.”
