Bolton Council has taken four residents to court as part of its continued crack down on flytipping.

Nihman Hama Amin attended and pleaded guilty to dumping a baby walker, cushions and boxes at the rear of Calvert Road, Bolton. She was fined £50, costs of £100 and £30 victim surcharge.

Tibor Tamas did not attend and was found guilty in his absence of dumping ten bags of household waste at the junction of Hobart Street and Boundary Street, Bolton and was fined £220, with costs of £315 and £30 victim surcharge.

Magdelaina Lakatosova also did not attend and was found guilty in absence of dumping 10 – 15 bags of waste at the junction of Bromwich Street, Bolton and was fined £220, with costs of £370 and £30 victim surcharge.

David Jones did not attend and was found guilty in his absence of dumping two black bags at the rear of Chorley Old Road. He was fined £220, costs of £225 and £30 victim surcharge.

Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Environmental Services, Councillor Nick Peel, said: “Flytipping is antisocial and shows a complete disregard for local people.

Pursuing prosecutions like these demonstrates the council’s continued commitment to deal with those who commit enviro-crime.

“I would encourage all residents to report flytips to the council and any other information that will help us identify the culprits.”
