TEAM Deane's second annual Alison Brady Memorial 10k run was again a huge success last Saturday.

The day began with the children's run which consisted of two distances – the older youngsters running 1k and those between the ages of three and six completing 500m.

All those taking part received medals and enjoyed the run.

Then it was the turn of the adults with 70 runners taking part in the 10k route, which is made up of trail on the Middlebrook path in Deane with every finisher getting a medal and goody bag.

All runners started the event with a minute's applause in memory of Alison Brady and Kyle Buckley, whose funeral was happening at the same time the 10k started.

Alison was the wife of Team Deane chairman Chris Brady and passed away last September – the 10k run set up as a memorial to her so that she always remains part of the club she loved so much.

The run raised around £600 which will be shared between Bolton Hospice and the Make Kyle Smile fund.

Bolton Hospice are the club's charity and helped Alison right to the end of her life.

It was the second time for the event and the club hopes it will grow bigger and better next year.

They say feedback so far has been positive with people commenting on social media how good it was.

Team Deane's next event is the Santa Dash on December 16, again setting off from the Vulcan.
