COMEDIAN Peter Kay thrilled the audience at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, last night when he made a surprise appearance on stage at the end of a concert by Texas.
Kay, a major fan of the band led by Sharleen Spiteri, appeared from the wings as the band had just completed their first encore.
Wearing trademark check shirt and jeans he teased Glasgow-born Sharleen about her 50th birthday which she will celebrate in November and told her off swearing in between songs.
He then asked for a guitar and pretended to play along as the band launched into their final song of the night, a cover of Elvis Presley’s Suspicious Minds.
