A NURSERY in Timperley has been presented the ‘Inclusive Practice’ award at the Nursery World Awards 2017.

The OFSTED rated 'Outstanding' Elmscot Day Nursery, provides childcare and early years education for children aged 0-5 years.

The judge particularly recognised Elmscot for “treating every child as an individual, from the moment they attend their first settling-in session, to the day they leave to move on in their educational journey.”

Manager of the nursery, Justyna Ogrodniczek said: “Our team is delighted to have received this amazing award for all the hard work we put in to ensure every child in our care is treated as an individual. It is fantastic that our commitment to the families attending our setting and for the quality of the care and education we provide has really been recognised.”

Justina attended the Nursery World award ceremony with the special educational needs coordinator (SENCO), Ami Mahon on September 23 at The Brewery in Central London.

The nursery currently looks after several children with additional educational needs, and has developed strong relationships with external professionals such as speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and sensory support services.

Ami said: “I work closely with all the practitioners in the setting to ensure every child is recognised as an individual- this can be through supporting specific areas of development to ensuring cultural diversity is evident in each room of the setting.”
