THE former chief executive of Bolton Council has resigned from his job as head of a London authority.
Sean Harriss left Bolton in 2015 to take up the chief executive post at Lambeth Council, but has now stepped down ‘following a period of ill-health’.
He has been off work since June this year.
Cllr Lib Peck, Lambeth Council leader, said: “Sean was very committed to the role, and his enthusiastic personality meant that staff throughout the organisation will have fond memories of working with him. His resignation is a loss to Lambeth, especially given the amount of work the organisation is currently undertaking.”
Mr Harris spent 17 years at Bolton Council, in the chief executive’s office from 1993 to 2003, before returning after four-and-a-half years at Oldham Council.
