A generator tripped in Westhoughton, causing a power cut to more than 200 homes
HUNDREDS of homes in Westhoughton were left without electricity after a power cut this morning.
Electricity North West said that 209 properties were affected by the cut, which happened after the generator supplying the area tripped due to increased load.
Engineers were dispatched to the area at around 7.30am and it is expected that the network will be fully repaired by 6pm.
