A PLANE will be flown over the Macron stadium today as part of a campaign to raise awareness of animal cruelty.
Operation Frankish was launched with the aim of increasing prison sentences for animal abuse from six months to five years.
This campaign was successful and the government announced the increase in custodial sentences for people who commit cruelty to animals last month
The group has now created its own register of people who have been convicted of abusing animals in the UK.
People can contribute to the database and submissions will then be validated.
To raise awareness of the new database, a plane will be flown over three football matches today.
It will start off by flying over the Liverpool v Manchester United match at Anfield, before moving on to the Manchester City v Stoke game at the Etihad and finally, will fly over the Macron when Bolton Wanderers are playing Sheffield Wednesday, around the start of the second half.
The plane will be dragging a banner with the web address on it to get as much awareness for the scheme as possible.
It will fly over the Macron around the start of the second half.
The plane will be up in the air for two and a half hours taking off from and landing in Blackpool.
