WINDS of up to 50mph are predicted to batter the area tomorrow afternoon.
A yellow weather warning for wind has been put in place for much of the west of England, including Bolton from noon until 11.55pm tomorrow.
The winds are as a result of the tail-end of Hurricane Ophelia passing the country.
Road, rail, air and ferry travel could be affected and people are being warned of longer journey times and cancellations.
There is also a possibility of power cuts and damage to buildings due to the speed of the winds.
People are being warned to be on alert as flying debris could cause risk of injury.
As well as the blustery winds, the hurricane is also bringing high temperatures for this kind of year to the area.
The Met Office is predicting highs of 20 degrees tomorrow afternoon in Bolton.
