LATEST figures show that the number of unemployed people in Bolton dropped by 50 last month, as the national jobless total fell to a 12-year low.
In September, 5,685 people claimed unemployment benefits in the town, down from 5,735 in August.
Linda Bailey, of Jobcentre Plus, said she was excited about the news that Amazon will be bringing 1,200 jobs to Logistics North next year, adding: “We hope to hear more soon, in terms of when recruitment will start. We worked with Amazon in Manchester and Warrington and we hope to again.”
The national jobless total was cut by 52,000 in the quarter to August to 1.4 million, the lowest since 2005.
