A SPOOKY spectacular sight has been frightening and delighting Halloween fans after finding a harbour in a front garden.

Arriving just in time for haunting season, a 16-foot ghostly pirate ship has docked in Bromley Cross.

But there's no need to fear as this creepy creation, known as the Black Pug, is the work of fundraising neighbours in Hardmans.

Terrifically terrifying as it is brilliant to look at, the looming boat with its tall dark sails, pirate skeletons and dungeons has been built in the front garden of Simone and Paul Brady.

The couple have gone the extra mile in the hopes their spooky crew can raise a booty of £500 for Bolton Hospice.

Mrs Brady said: "We got married on Halloween and we’ve always organised something a bit whacky to celebrate.

"The hospice is an amazing charity and helps so many patients and their families living with a life-limiting illness. They need to raise around £3.4 million every year to continue providing their specialist care free of charge so every pound we can raise will really make a difference.

"We’ve had lots of people taking pictures from passers-by to whole classes from our local school, the support we’ve received from the Bolton community has been fantastic."

The boat has been built by Mr Brady and neighbour Pete Kirkwood and will be in situ until Halloween.

Donations can also be made to their fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/simone-brady1.

On Saturday its captains are also planning to project spooky Halloween images onto the mast of the ship and are encouraging people to pop along to have their picture taken for a small donation to the hospice treasure pot.
