A CRACKDOWN on fly-tipping across Bolton has yielded two more prosecutions.

Aneta Calota, of Woodfield Street, Great Lever, has been fined £440 for dumping bags of household waste at the rear of her street.

The 42-year-old was found guilty in her absence at court and also ordered to pay £425 in costs, plus a £44 victim surcharge.

Abduljwad Izzeddin pleaded guilty to passing waste to an unlicensed carrier, who dumped bags of waste across Quebec playing fields, in Deane.

The 35-year-old, of Briercliffe Road, was fined £80, ordered to pay £200 in costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Bolton Council’s executive cabinet member for environmental services, Cllr Nick Peel, said: “This is another excellent result for the council’s enforcement team, who continue to work tirelessly to catch, fine and prosecute any individual or company that dumps waste in Bolton.

"Residents should never pay any person or business to take their waste without checking that they have the appropriate license, as many ‘unlicensed waste businesses’ simply take the money and dump the waste elsewhere, in this case on playing fields, causing mess, nuisance, and unnecessary costs to local council tax payers.

"Dumping waste is never acceptable under any circumstance, and anyone with information should report it online at bolton.gov.uk/flytipping.”
