A VACANT pub is set to be converted into a cafe and dessert parlour.
Bolton Council has agreed that the Church Inn, in George Street, Farnworth, can re-open in an attempt to ‘ bring back the community spirit in that part of town’.
In a statement sent to the council’s, site’s owners said that re-opening as a cafe would cause less disturbance for neighbours than the pub previously did.
They added: “We also feel that it would bring this property back into use which the owners have been doing since it was purchased, we feel having a cafe/ dessert place would be a good aspect to the community as people would be able to come together the same way as when the inn used to be and would bring back the community spirit in that part of town.”
