A CRASH on the A56 this morning meant a woman and child had to be taken to hospital.
The ambulance service treated four patients at the scene with minor injuries and two of them, a woman and a child, were later taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital for further checks.
No one has been arrested, however NW Motorway Police tweeted one person had been reported for dangerous driving.
The crash involved a Citroen DS3 and an Audi A1 on the northbound stretch of the A56, near to Edenfield.
Lancashire Police and the North West Ambulance Service were called to the scene at around 7.30am and the road had to be closed for a time.
This led to congestion on the A56 slip-road near Tesco in Haslingden
