YOUNGSTERS left the classroom to learn about the Hindu festival of Diwali.
Kearsley West Primary School once again brought learning to life by taking pupils to the Veda Mandir Temple in Bolton.
They tasted traditional Indian food and had a chance to wear Indian dress and learn about Hindu ceremonies — as well as developing their understanding of cultural diversity and tolerance.
Deputy head Jackie Fitton said: “The children have learnt about the story of Rama and Sita and the traditions behind Diwali.” The visit was part of the school’s work to put the ‘wow’ factor into learning.
