A MAJOR route into Bolton is closed this morning due to flooding.
The A675 Bolton Road/Belmont Road has flooded near Abbey village and there is heavy traffic on the road.
An eyewitness reported seeing the road closed by police earlier this morning as a car had become stuck in flood waters.
The road is understood to be completely shut and police are turning vehicles around near to Abbey village.
Both Chorley and Blackburn with Darwen Police officers have tweeted about flooding in the area.
