IT'S a social media sensation, said to be a hit at this year's Manchester Christmas markets — and now visitors to Bolton can find out why the Yorkshire pudding wrap is the dish of choice.
The delicacy, which has people queuing in York and shouting about it on Twitter, is being served up at The Carvery at Bolton's Festival Village outside the Market Place.
Customers can tuck into a large flattened Yorkshire pudding wrapped around a meat of their choice complete with veg and stuffing.
Sophie Gore, who lives in Bolton, said: "We have just started to do the Yorkshire pudding wraps.
"We serve them in Warrington and they have been popular and now we have brought them to Bolton.
"They seem to be the new trend."
She added: "Customers can choose pork, beef, mint lamb and turkey with all the trimmings.
"The mint lamb is very popular but my favourite is beef."
The stalls will be in Bolton throughout Christmas and into New Year serving up other meat dishes and sweet treats such as German ‘snow kisses’ and fresh donuts to French crepes and Belgian waffles. Hot drinks such as tea, coffee, hot chocolate and mulled wine will also be on sale.
Sophie, who lives in Bolton after marrying someone from the town, said: "It is lovely to be in Bolton, because we can find ourselves travelling quite a lot."
