CONSTRUCTION almost complete on the 55-metre snow slide returning to Bolton town centre this Christmas.

The Newport Street slide will be the main attraction at the town’s annual Winter Festival, which starts on December 2.

Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr Cliff Morris, said: “We have got a fantastic programme of fun for all the family in the run up to Christmas.

“Construction of the snow slide should be complete early next week, and work has also started on building the ice rink.

“The attractions open to the public on December 2 and we are expecting thousands to come along for a skate on the rink, have a turn on the giant snow slide or see Santa in his grotto.

“Our Christmas Market will also be coming to town from December 9 where people can pick up some handcrafted gifts and festive treats.”
