Northern Powerhouse Minister Jake Berry joined local MP Chris Green on a visit to Westhoughton technology firm Eventura.

CEO Chris Houghton gave the Minister a tour of their headquarters and spoke about recent successes of his systems management company, which specialises in cyber security

Eventura moved into their purpose-built £1 million premises on the site of the old Cross Guns pub in Bolton Road, Westhoughton last year. The growing company has a global client list which includes Missguided, Tommy Hilfiger and Jimmy Choo.

Chris Houghton, CEO of Eventura, said: “It’s great to see that our representatives in London actually care about what we have to say.

“We discussed the need for real, on the ground help for SMEs in Bolton (and other towns) besides the big cities in the Northern Powerhouse. Help with exporting our products and services, in Europe and beyond was of particular interest.”

Northern Powerhouse Minister Jake Berry said: “It's fantastic to see yet another example of a great Northern business growing and going from strength to strength.

“The Government is working hard to support businesses and communities right across the North of England, not just in our large cities but also in our Northern Power-towns like Bolton and Westhoughton.”

Chris Green, MP for Bolton West, said: “I was really pleased to welcome Jake to Bolton West and introduce him to Chris and the team at Eventura, one of our expanding high-tech employers right here in the heart of Westhoughton.

“The Northern Powerhouse isn’t just about the centre of Manchester – it’s also about high-tech businesses locating in our towns and villages across the region.”
