CHALLENGE: People get involved with the cycle challenge
A TRANSATLANTIC cycle challenge that saw volunteers use pedal power to get from Harwood to Albuquerque raised more than £5,000.
Harwood Methodist Church has been working for nine years to build a new community centre and church in Longsight Lane.
People took to exercise bikes outside Debenhams in the Market Place and cycled the land distance from Harwood, Bolton to Harwood in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the United States.
They successfully met the target of 2,027 land miles and raised £5,426.24.
