A WHITE blanket covered Bolton this morning as the first bout of snow expected this weekend fell over night.

The wintry, white stuff has covered roofs, playgrounds, cars and pavements giving the whole town a new look.

There is enough snow around for a snowball fight and maybe its possible to scrape together enough for a snowman.

Whether you are walking your dog, enjoying a stroll with the family or having a snowball fight we would love to see how you are spending your Saturday.

Send us your pictures and we will add them into the gallery through the day.

To send us your pictures email mary.naylor@nqnw.co.uk or pop us a message on The Bolton News Facebook page.

Please include your name, the names of anyone in the picture and the location.

FROST: Monica Shaw posted this picture of Radcliffe Canal on our Facebook page

In Bolton town centre the Christmas markets are in full swing with an Alpine Ski Bar and ice rink, made all the more wintry by the snowfall which looks set to continue on and off through the day.

More snow is expected tomorrow and a yellow weather warning is in place as the snow is expected to be heavier. Bolton Hospice has already cancelled its Hike the Pike event.
