WITH the arrival of Santa Claus just a few weeks away, toy shops have been stocking up on the items most likely to make Christmas wish lists.

Smyths Toys Superstores — which has a branch in Bolton — has revealed the toy it believes everyone wants to find under the tree on December 25.

A miniature droid that resembles a Jedi training device has been hailed as the toy of the season ahead of the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi film on Thursday.

Made by the award-winning British inventors at Wow! Stuff, it has been flying off the shelves.

Most famous for its appearance in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, the device is used by Obi Wan Kenobi to train Luke Skywalker in the ways of The Force aboard Han Solo's Millennium Falcon.

The droid fires lasers at the would-be Jedi, with Luke expected to defend himself with a lightsaber while blinded by the blast shield on his pilot's helmet.

Buyer Laura Molloy said: “It has proven to be a really fantastic way for fans of all ages to recreate iconic scenes from the films.

“We have stock for now but we know that hot lines have a habit of selling out quickly before Christmas, so we will do everything we can to ensure we don’t disappoint anyone coming through our door in finding one!”

It's available from Smyths for £24.99.
