PLANS to make ‘much-needed’ repairs to a high street pub have received town council support.
An application to carry out work at the Grade-II listed White Lion in Market Street, Westhoughton, was submitted to Bolton Council last week.
It went before members of Westhoughton Town Council on Monday and it was unanimously recommended for approval.
It was the second application by pub owners Joseph Holt brewery after the last one was refused for a lack of information.
The proposal is to remove the rendering on the building and entirely recover it and rebuild the three chimney breasts, as well as renew the windows, bargeboards and guttering.
