THE finest festive knitwear was proudly on display around the town as people supported Bolton Hospice’s Jolly Jumper Day.

Today it's officially Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Save the Children, and we want to see your best threads.

Staff at The Bolton News were among those taking part for the hospice appeal earlier this week.

Designs ranged from typical Santa Claus, reindeer and penguins to timely Star Wars jumpers.

Bolton Hospice also asked children to design their very own Jolly Jumper and be in with a chance of winning two tickets to the cinema donated by The Light Cinema in the Market Place Shopping Centre.

The winner was selected by Kathryn Willett, community fundraiser,g and a member of the hospice’s nursing team yesterday as part of the event.

Love Energy Savings in Bolton was one of the companies that took part.

A spokesman said: “200 employees came dressed to impressed in their Christmas jumpers today for their favourite local charity — Bolton Hospice.

“The amount raised is not known yet, however it is a local charity very close to a lot of people’s hearts and we are very happy to support them.”
