SEAN Dyche said he was giving a 'funny answer to a funny question' when he came out with his 'Proudsville' line after Burnley's win over Stoke City.

After seeing his side go fourth in the Premier League on Tuesday night Dyche proclaimed himself 'prouder than the proudest man in Proudsville'.

He was responding to a question over whether he was proud of Burnley's rise up the table after playing down their chances of qualifying for Europe.

But the line has since spawned a club video for a fake sitcom called 'Proudsville' that has gone viral online, starring Dyche, James Tarkowski, Jack Cork, Nick Pope, Ashley Barnes and Claret the Dog.

However Dyche insists he did mean for the line to become such big news, although there is certainly an element of truth in it and how he feels about his side.

"I didn't intend on that making news, it was a funny answer to a funny question. They certainly got a line," the Clarets chief said.

"There's a bit of that. Joking apart of course I'm proud of what the club is achievement, so far. I've been saying that a few weeks. We keep going and getting results. We know we've got to work hard."
